Just to let you know all went well. Partitioned drive first as I had a mixture of Windows 7 and Linux Mint. Cloned Win7 with Macrium Reflect - no problems. Decided to reinstall Mint (as it's so easy and would sort out the Grub loader properly) - again no problems.

We are back in business with no ill effects - except on the bank balance.
