I have annual travel insurance. The policy expires whilst I am away on holiday.

Is there any reason why I need to renew with the same company or can I renew with a different company? This would mean that my flight out and part of the holiday would come under the existing cover. The remainder of the holiday and return flight would be covered by the new policy.
