Bucharest, May 23 /Rompres/ - The Tesco British group, the largest chain of supermarkets in Great Britain and a world's leader in Internet sales, will invest about USD 4 million in the creation of the first on-line Romanian supermarket, Capital magazine informs on Wednesday.
Tesco also intends to invest almost USD 60 million in the Romanian sector of consumer goods by building at least 5 supermarkets in Bucharest and western Romania.
David Reid, Tesco Vice-President for Central-Eastern Europe and Asia says that " studies conducted by British experts show that Romania has an extraordinary potential as regards the Internet". Reid added that the virtual version of the Tesco supermarket will be finalised at the same time with the launching of the first Tesco store in Romania.
