Sometime last year I heard there was a proposal to shorten the number of years for which you can carry forward the unused tax pool for a Discretionary Trust. Possibly changing it from 6 years to 18 months.

I haven't found anything about it in the budget info so does anyone know if there has been a change?


I have just read that the proposed change, as part of the modernising trusts consultations, to abolish the tax pool has been deferred.

The reference given was to BN35 and, although not specifically mentioned, it would appear to be swept up in the paragraph at the end of 7 :-
