My daughter has asked whether she can have a sleepover with her 'best friend'. I have no idea where she got the idea for a sleepover from. I'm inclined to let her and the mother of the boy she wants to stay with is also fine with it. The plan is to let her stay the night and then I would come round in the morning for a late breakfast. I am not worried about how my daughter would cope, she's fine at sleeping in strange beds and she's pretty well behaved. The two children are brilliant together.

My daughter is 31/2 the boy is almost exactly a year older and sees my daughter as his best friend too. School has not made him anti- girl quite yet. Is there anything I'm missing? Any reason why this would be a bad idea apart from the fact that she seems rather young to have sleepovers?
