You were paid money which wasn't yours; why did you not return it?
As a shareholder in L&G, I can only support them in recovering the money from you.

But also as a shareholder I wonder on how many other occassions they have made this error and what it says for their competence.
For the record I was once sent a cheque in error (by an insurance company but a similar situation). They then DEMANDED that I repay it immediately.
I told them I would be happy to do so once I got a written explanation for their incompetence, a written apology and financial recompense for having to endure their rudeness and my time and effort sorting out their mess. They agreed I could keep half the money (shame it was only a couple of hundred quid but not bad for nothing)

once i telephoned them, they confused my vioce with someone else, and secondly L&G have a separate department called recoveries dealing with all the mess.
from my dealings i am gald i am not a share holder because i would be deeply concern, with the staff they recruit.
