Personally I think it was completely ridiculous to throw taxpayer money at NR.

It was simply a badly run bank, which should have been allowed to fail. It was of no systemic importance and depositors are protected by a very generous Protection Scheme.

As for the borrowers, well don´t forget they are now stuck with a mortgage of 125 on a property that was valued at 100 and is probably now valued at 70-80 .... so I would suggest they are bearing their corresponding and relevant share of responsibility.
