My feeling with this stuff is that element of surprise is gone. The banks took a hit because they had not properly provisioned, hedged or sold the debt because they were taken by surprise. There has been ample time to take action now and this should be reflected in the NTBV.

There are no guarantees of course and this is certainly not a risk free investment.
