LOL - I misread the thread title. I thought this was going to be another treatise on Scandiwegian writers, eg "why Danish detective TV adaptations?".

I have kind of the opposite problem, in that I get so excited about the next book that I find I have a tendency - once the dénoument is clear - to skim the final pages of the current one.
