Does anyone want to discuss Reed and their future growth/challenges?
Pro's
Massive: loads of physical assets. Good content, dominating position. Known as the "death star" by competitors (for good or ill). Raise their prices at will.
Con's
Disliked; considered bullies within their markets. A juggernaut they seem slow to react. Their business model of aggragating content digitally and then selling it at bulk prices to corporates/institutes may be considered unsustainable. Ian Smith's cash call annoyed shareholders (and led to him being ousted). They don't seem to have a coherent digital strategy (they have various platforms but they are dispirate). A bunker mentality between groups/divisions.
Anyone care to break this down with a specific view to the next 3 - 5 years growth? I think the waters are choppy.
