I have invested less than £20 in a Mi band which counts your steps, and it is a very useful nag in pointing out days when you haven't been very active.

I have a garmin band which also gives me a vibration and message if I'm inactive for too long. I remember coming home after my 17 mile run and after stretching etc taking a break on the sofa. My garmin then had the cheek to tell me to move! I told it to go away :-)

Jokes aside, I was very skeptical about fitness bands, but having owned one for a couple of months I'm impressed by the motivation aspect.
