Hi Coleyfish, welcome to this obscure corner of TMF :-)

I'm not going to discuss specific pubs because people read the board all over the country and don't want to read about pubs hundreds of miles from where they live. IMO.

I can't make much of a discussion about countries either, because I completely agree with your list. I'd add the US and Canada as well - when I was in Denver a couple of years ago it claimed 83 brewpubs! If only there was decent public transport - I only got to try the city centre ones.

But I can discuss your favourite beers. I really enjoy Landlord and Summer Lightning, although I'm nowadays wondering whether the former is as good as it used to be. But I'd definitely exclude Doombar and TEA which both seem pretty bland to me. Haven't had Ringwood for ages, I'll look out for it.

Here's six favourite breweries in alphabetical order whose products won't IMO disappoint. No doubt I'll think of others as soon as I've hit the submit button.

a) Ascot
b) Batemans (although they have recently weakened XXXB)
c) Copper Dragon
d) Dark Star
e) FFF
f) Moorhouse
