Actually, it is a fair point. Is it worth updating frequently (I typically buy a new road map every 3 years or so - or when they fall apart) How much hassle is it (you make it sound lots) and how much does it cost - for example, updating once a year?

With the TomTom it costs me £45/year for 4 updates covering the whole of Western Europe, or you could leave it and just buy a new map after 3 years for £45.

As to how often it is worth it, I like to be up to date because then I have little or no trouble with recently changed/introduced one way systems when going to places I haven't been before - especially when on business.

I have to say, though I have never had any problems with the download, other than it taking time. It download, then it installs. I'll probably be doing the latest one this weekend, just in time to be up to date for my holiday on Madeira.

Cheers
Slarti
