An inverted wine snob is someone who think witless rubbish like this. Which is exactly what I was on about. I wasn't inferring that this board is full of Wine snobs - just that theirs lots of them about. I was going to reply to another poster who took right umbrage (Very sniffily at that) over my point. Perhaps I should have pointed out that i'm going back 20/25yrs when a awful lot of crap Wine was on sale and if you found a good one, you stuck to it. It did make for an awful lot of inverted snobbery though and I wasn't fooling or conning friends either as most of them were beer/lager drinkers and had no real appreciation of Wine. It's a very different ball game today with current friends as we bend over backwards to please each other, but thats another story. The main plank of my arguement though was in answer to a poster who suggested that Delia's cooking was returning to the bad old days of WW11 which is absolute rubbish. The bit about the Wine was amplification to emphasise a point and not to be taken seriously by proper Wine drinkers. |
